Cold weather outside, last pears & walnuts fell down and winter is only waiting behind the corner to take over my beloved Poland. Well, not only Poland of course :)
This year I decided to make little Winter Garden on the windowsill. And here is what is growing so far…
1. Radish & Onion
2. Dill & Chives
3. String beans
4. Mint & Strawberries
Radish just came out a week or so ago and doing well with growing :) Onion is much higher since I made those pics – it was 4th Nov! – is something about 10 cm tall today! Dill & Chives I re-planted from outside pot where they grew together all Summer. I wasn’t sure if the String beans will grow in the flower pot, so I planted one bean just to experiment. So, now I know that it’s fine and I’m going to plant more beans soon. Those Strawberries was re-planted from the garden to the pot during spring maybe early summer and I picked a few little fruits from them during the season. Will see how they will do over winter sitting inside. And the little Mint… I picked one root from the mint which is growing around the house to see how it will do growing inside on the windowsill. So far doing very well and every now and then I see new born leafs peeking out from the pot.
I will do another pictures in December. Ah, and I’m going to seed lettuce, rosemary, thyme and will see what more. Still awaiting for parsley seeded a couple of weeks ago.
Did you try it before? Or maybe you are experienced winter windowsill garden’s gardener :) I’m open for all your suggestions, opinions, tips etc. so please drop your thoughts below.
