When I was a little girl I loved to keep everything, I mean… sweet’s wraps, stones, buttons, ribbons, bottles and lots of other things. Then I was bigger girl who do not like to keep all those sweet’s wraps and bottles any more. Something old, useless and not good looking…bin! Well, now I’m even bigger girl (not with hight though) and I’m seeing lots of potential in all sorts of old and useless things. Such as this red clay flowerpot. I have no idea how old it is but I’m sure is pretty old. Yesterday when I replanted some of my plants I needed bigger pot for the bean I decided to experiment with. I seed two types of beans into a two little pots and going to see if they will have a fruits over colder months living on my windowsill. So, they are bigger now (the bean plants) and have lovely flowers and one even have tiny fruit. Yey! A few pictures below showing the pot before and after…
So, I primed the red clay pot with normal wall/ceiling primer (left from our garage refurbishment), wait an hour or so and then paint with white water based wall paint (garage refurbishment as well). Nothing fancy, but the pot looks so …. shabby chic. I’m going to do something similar for another red clay pot .
I’m going to have winter garden on my windowsill this year and will share my thoughts & pictures in here through the cold months.
If you renewed flowerpots before, please share your thoughts and suggestions, as well as links to your pictures & blogs.
Have a sweet Tuesday
