As we reached last Sunday of the year 2012 I decided to prepare very tasty Thyme Baguettes. Thyme was my idea, so you can add whatever you like (Rosemary, Chilli, Garlic…..etc.)
Baguettes are very easy to make.
You will need:
5-6 glasses of flour
2 glasses lukewarm water
1 Tbsp of salt
1 Tbsp of sugar
1 Tbsp of dried yeast (one little sachet)
In the big ceramic bowl blend 5 glasses of flour with sugar, salt, yeasts and water ( herbs if you wish). During mixing add the rest of flour and knead the dough. I always do it by my hands as I have no good food processor to knead nice yeast dough.
Dough have to be smooth and flexible, then you know that is done well. Leave the dough in the bowl in warm place for 90 minutes to grow.
After this time or when dough is at least twice bigger then you can take it out from the bowl, cut baguettes shape pieces, put on the oven tray. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes in 200°C .
